Description

  • Dry style
  • Barrel-fermented
  • Vibrant & aromatic
  • Gentle acidity

Vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with intense aromas, a fine texture and gentle acidity. Complex and age-worthy expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Hand-harvested and gentle whole bunch pressing has created a fine textured palate with exceptional length. This serious Sauvignon Blanc is quite unlike most others made in New Zealand, and more in common with the complex, textural white wines of Bordeaux.

Grown on our Redstone Vineyard in the Bridge Pa Triangle appellation in Hawkes Bay, the fruit is hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, wild fermented in predominantly older French oak barrels, and subsequent barrel age on full yeast lees for 9 months, has created a subtly aromatic, complex and textural wine that is age-worthy and ideally suited to be enjoy with food.

Church Road embraces Old World winemaking with one arm and technological advancements with the other. And it all begins with fruit grown in Hawke's Bay. Church Road Winery, renowned for being the first in New Zealand to craft exceptional quality Bordeaux style red wine, pioneered the creation of the Hawke’s Bay wine industry. Church Road wines are crafted using the most exceptional quality fruit from vineyards across Hawke’s Bay, together with traditional winemaking techniques to create highly acclaimed award-winning wines.

Founded in 1897, Church Road combines traditional winemaking techniques with modern thinking and innovation to craft premium, complex wines.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with lighter dishes such as salads and seafood.
