"The 2024 Trelinnoe Chardonnay is a two-and-a-half-barrel blend from the Trellinoe vineyard. The terraces were damaged in the 2023 cyclone, and the yields are extremely low. The wine is made from Clone 95 (Kaikora Vineyard is Clone 15, Two Terraces Vineyard is Clone 548), and the wine is linear and tightly coiled, wrapped around a core of briny acidity. White peach, preserved lemon rind, crispy green apple and a spice mix of fennel/clove/star anise lace the perimeter. This beautiful wine is elegant, sapid and palate staining. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap" Robert Parker

Vivid straw-yellow green colour. Bright and shiny. Intense and elegant aromas with hints of white stone fruits and white flowers. The proximity to the sea gives the wine its freshness and saltiness and the granitic soils enhance its natural minerality. On the palate, the wine is rounded and full-bodied, with a light petillance that adds to its vivacious sense of freshness, and an impressive persistence on the finish. Alba Martín is a reflection of its land, the Val do Salnés. Young and fresh, with intense and elegant lactic aromas with hints of white stone fruit and flowers. On the palate, the wine is rounded with an impressive persistence and sense of freshness on the finish.

A single vineyard Chardonnay from Trelinnoe (tree-lin-o) Vineyard on Roys Hill named for the owner’s historical ties to Cornwall. Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay is a part of our project to highlight some of the most unique, small, single vineyards in Hawke’s Bay. The Roys Hill hillside terraces are sandstone over limestone and are planted with clone UCD15 Chardonnay.

The fruit was 100% hand-picked, then whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques for fermentation. As with all of our Chardonnays, the Trelinnoe Chardonnay was fermented with indigenous yeast. The wine spent 11 months in oak prior to bottling; there was no fining or cold stabilisation. There are no additives other than sulphur.
