Cillar de Silos El Quintanal Tempranillo 2018 (Spain)

A rich & intense explosion of black & red fruits

A rich & intense explosion of black & red fruits
Description
This wine displays a gorgeous purple cherry red in the glass, accompanied by intense scents of black and red fruits and violets with soft notes of liquorice. The palate displays a medium-body that is soft, tasty and round, emphasizing it’s aromatic persistence.
The fruit for El Quintanal comes from over 100 hectares of very old Tempranillo vines, aged between 50 to 90 years. The age of the vines ensures low yields and good concentration of fruit, and the viticultural process is overseen by Oscár Aragón, the head winemaker. Oscár carefully selects the only finest parcels of the wide selection of the co-operative vinegrowers’ supply, insisting on low yields and fully manual harvest. The secret to El Quintanal’s style of soft, ripe tannins with the dense fruitiness of Tempranillo lies in the unique micro-climate of the vineyards. Surrounded by ancient pine forests, the vineyards are well sheltered from frost, and the south-facing slopes ensure optimum levels of ripeness.
Ribera del Duero is an important wine region in Castilla y Leon, northern Spain. Its reputation is largely thanks to the high-quality of its red wines made mainly from Tempranillo grapes. The best examples are renowned throughout the wine world.
Food pairing: Match this wine with tomato-base dishes such as lasagna, bolognese or drink with a delicious home made Mexican night!
