Description
Blueberry, Cherry, Oak
"Plush, ripe, fleshy and fruity with core aromas and flavours of purple fruits from fresh black currant and raspberry, a jammy quality adds power to the core of the palate. A dry wine with a firm youthful texture from tannins and surge of acidity framing core flavours of boysenberry and black currant. Well made and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2030" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2026
This Syrah is all about depth. Dark berry and plum aromatics set a deep, vibrant tone, before spicy oak and savoury notes take over on a palate that is full-bodied and generous. A thread of velvety tannin runs underneath, adding structure without ever feeling heavy, while a smooth lingering finish gives every glass real personality.
Our Syrah is grown on a selection of vineyards across the Hawke’s Bay region, including ancient riverbeds and elevated hill sites.
The 2025 harvest in Hawke’s Bay was one to remember. A warm, dry spring set the stage with excellent flowering and an early start to the growing season. While summer brought cooler conditions, the fruit developed beautifully, leading to one of the earliest harvests we’ve seen. The quality of the grapes has been outstanding - vibrant, balanced, and full of character.
Each parcel of Syrah was destemmed and fermented separately, with extended maceration on skins ahead of pressing. The wine went to a mix of new and seasoned French oak for 12 months. Post fermentation the wine was pressed to oak to undergo malolactic fermentation. It was then assembled, filtered and bottled.
Food Pairing: This Syrah is made to be shared. Try it alongside a classic, slow-roasted lamb shoulder with rosemary and garlic, or a rich beef and red wine casserole. For those who love a little heat, try it with a spiced tagine or a rich smoky barbeque.
