Orlando Jacaranda Ridge Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (Australia)

A dense & elegant Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

A dense & elegant Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Description
Blackberry, Oak, Spice
Dark crimson red with excellent depth. A focussed wine displaying youthful primary fruit flavours of cassis and black berry on the mid-palate. The tight tannin structure and balanced acidity drive a palate of excellent length and clarity. Influences of French oak in the form of toasted cedar notes are apparent but restrained. Primarily, classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of blackberry leaf, give way to hints of darker berry fruits. Subsequent notes of French oak, savoury leather and spice enhance the interest in this wine.
A dense and elegant Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon showcasing traditional regional characters of fine tannin and blackberry leaf, but also a darker, brooding quality unique to the vineyard from which the grapes were sourced. The balance and poise of this wine, along with the ample cassis and dark berry fruit flavour, will see this age well for decades to come.
Sourced entirely from a single block on the Flint family vineyard in the Northern Coonawarra. This block consistently produces dark, densely fruited wines with excellent tannin structure and longevity. Always exhibiting its Coonawarra provenance in the form of regional aromas and flavours, the intensity of the fruit produced by this location is exceptional for the region. The crown of the North!
Food Pairing: Roast rack of Australian lamb with rosemary salt.
