Description
Deep ruby with purple hues in the glass. Greeted with sun-ripened raspberries and freshly ground white peppercorns on the nose. This Zinfandel is saturated with flavours of red berries and cranberries. Laced with a hint of savoury herb in the background, the traditional tones of juniper lead to a full and ripe finish, while 12 months of aging in two year old barrels wraps the wine in spicy oak and a touch of vanilla wafer.
The Bogle family currently farms 1600 acres, with 1200 acres in Clarksburg and 400 in the Lodi appellation. Hand crafting wine is something Bogle winemakers have done for nearly 40 years now with passion for both the art and science of making wine. During this time Bogle winemakers have sought out vines ranging in age from 60 to 80 years old for our Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly head-trained and dry farmed pioneers produce low yields of small, concentrated clusters of fruit, producing incredibly intense and flavorful wines.
Food Pairing: Great enjoyed alongside grilled sausages with caramelized onions and peppers or Tandoori chicken.
