"Attractively fruited and brightly expressed, the bouquet shows ripe nectarine, rockmelon, feijoa and lemon peel characters. The palate is lively and pristine with excellent vibrancy, backed by crisp acidity, finishing long and refreshing. Immediately appealing and delightfully enjoyable. Fruit for this wine was selected from various vineyards across Marlborough’s maritime and cool climate unique sub regions, including the Wairau Valley. The grapes were harvested when they reached optimum ripeness.
Intense aromas of blackcurrant and passionfruit fill the nose. Vibrant and medium in body, the palate shows typical Marlborough Sauvignon flavours including citrus, passionfruit, gooseberry and freshly cut capsicum. A succulent wine drinking beautifully now or up to two years from vintage date.
Food Pairing: A perfect match with pan fried snapper or whitebait fritters.
Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries.
Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fireroad, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.
