Deep, purple/red with an incredibly intense nose featuring black pepper and spices. The palate offers layers and layers of fruit with bursts of dark berry fruit, offering excellent balance and complexity, with a soft, long finish.

1 x Fontella Chianti DOCG 2015 (Tuscany)

AWARDED 90/100 POINTS: James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"A beautifully maturing Chianti; the complex bouquet shows dried cherry, smoked meat, warm spice and olive characters, followed by a beautifully weighted palate that is juicy and rounded. The wine offers attractive fruit intensity and silky texture, leading to a lingering, elegantly dry finish. It would be a wonderful partner to rich savoury dishes. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

A glorious Chianti, Italy's best-known red wine! A region boasts some of the world's finest wines as well as fantastic food-friendly bargains that somehow always seem a little more 'grown-up' than most other comparably priced quaffers!

Fontella is a traditional Chianti, being predominantly Sangiovese with a splash of Canaiolo and Colorino. Medium-bodied and easy-drinking in style, it is stainless steel fermented to maximise freshness and fruit expression. The resulting soft, harmonious flavours of dark cherry, plum, chocolate and marzipan make this wine taste like it could be three times the price.

Seal: Cork - Alc: 13.5%

1 x Miopasso Primitivo 2017 (Puglia)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Gorgeously fruited and richly expressed, the bouquet shows blackberry, Black Doris plum, vanilla, roasted hazelnut and mixed spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that is plump and fleshy. The wine offers terrific fruit power and velvety mouthfeel, backed by silky tannins. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

1 x Lamura Organic Nero D’Avola 2016 (Sicily)

AWARDED 90 POINTS: James Suckling

BEST BUY: Wine Enthusiast Magazine

"A dense and fruity red with plum, cherry and berry character. Medium body, soft tannins and a fruity finish. Drink now. Made from organic grapes. Screw cap" James Suckling

Made from Nero d’Avola grapes cultivated on the high hills. It expresses primary aromas that are so abundant in wines warmest parts of Sicily. Elegant tannins, with subtle hints of wood.

1 X Volpetto Chianti 2014 (Italy)

AWARDED SILVER MEDAL: Mundus Vini International Wine Awards

AWARDED 4 STAR: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Classically expressed, the bouquet shows sweet berry, fragrant spice, dark mushroom, black olive and almond characters. The palate is juicy and vibrant, delivering elegant fruit intensity and fine texture, leading to a pleasingly dry finish. A friendly middle-weight Chianti for everyday drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

This is delicious everyday Chianti, showing loads of ripe cherry and plum characters with gentle savoury notes. Fresh, juicy mouthfeel and a pleasantly drying finish. This is a cracker.

1 x Montecampo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017 (Italy)

Italy’s Montepulciano wows us with this delicious, ripe, mouthfilling red from top cellar Montecampo.

Dark purple-ruby. Fresh fruity aromas of violet and dark berries. Then bright, juicy and fresh, with similar flavours of the aromas, lifted by harmonious, lively acidity. Finishes juicy and long, leaving the palate bright and clean. A really lovely entry-level Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
