Description
"Bright, light straw-yellow colour, pale edged and with moderately persistent and fine bead. The bouquet is full and well-concentrated with a harmonious amalgam of yellow stonefruits and bready-yeasty, brioche-like autolysis. The aromatics are expressed with clarity, presence and with subtle complexing interest. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has clear and positive fresh apple and stonefruit flavours intermingling with fine bready-yeasty autolysis in the background, The flavours form a good heart, the dosage adding a perceptible richness, and the mouthfeel is refreshing and balanced, with a creamy mousse and bright acidity. The wine flows along a fine-textured line leading to a sustained finish of stonefruits and yeasty autolysis. This is a well-concentrated and harmoniously balanced , refreshing Champagne showing good Pinot Noir presence and clarity with fine autolytic interest. Serve as an aperitif and with canapés. It will also match a variety of fish and white meat dishes A blend of 50% each Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, fermented to 12.0% alc" Raymond Chan, Nov 2017
Pink colour with ruby tints. Delicious ripe red berry aromas dominated by dried figs. Delicate notes of liquorice. Complex, structured and fruity on the palate, with a pleasing length.
The Paul Louis Martin Champagne House has been family owned and run since 1864. A single vineyard Estate of just 10ha in the Grand Cru Village of Bouzy, home to great Pinot Noir. Paul Louis Martin’s daughter Francine Martin-Rapeneau, aided by her son Vincent, as taken over and they remain fervent about the quality of their champagne. Located in the heart of Montagne de Reims, Champagne Paul Louis Martin is blessed with an outstanding Grand Cru vineyard site that faces due south on chalky soil and is protected by North winds from the mountains adjoining the region. The wines from the Montage de Reims have much more weight, and power than those from La Côte des Blancs. While they are still excellent as an aperitif being more rich and robust in style they are able to stand up to a much wider variety of food accompaniments. 55% Pinot noir - 30% Chardonnay - 15% AOC Champagne rouge.
