Torbreck Old Vines Barossa Valley GSM 2016 (Australia)
Torbreck Old Vines Barossa Valley GSM 2016 (Australia)
Description
Almost Burgundian in style, the palate offers a soft latent richness and silken-like texture with subtle notes of crushed cherries, dorris plum and earth - all neatly wound by a taught spine of acidity and ripe supple tannins.
A finely-judged blend of 55% Grenache, 24% Shiraz and 21% Mourvèdre off old Barossa Valley vines, matured in French oak for 12 months. Elegantly styled, with attractive cassis, cherry, spice and floral notes.
Torbreck work in partnership with the people of the Barossa who grow our fruit, always aiming to get the very best out of their vineyard sites. This requires patience, allowing these vineyards to achieve physiological ripeness and only harvesting at a point when the fruit is at its most expressive. It also means a gentle, restrained hand in the physical winemaking process, minimising human intervention and wine movement, so that they capture the integrity of every single block.
Since 1994 Torbreck has been committed to creating exceptional Rhône style wines reflecting the very best vineyards in Australia's famous Barossa. Torbreck pays tribute to these vineyards with minimal intervention, creating wines of richness, structure and length that age gracefully.
