"A gorgeous modern rendition from the South of France, the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, spiced cherry, thyme and toasted almond characters, leading to a beautifully rounded palate delivering succulent fruit flavours and silky texture. Medium-full-bodied and attractively flavoursome" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2020

Bright dark cherry in colour. Intense aromas of ripe, red and black fruits, such as strawberry and blackberry with hints of garrigue, pepper and dried herbs. This wine is rich and concentrated on the palate, with velvety tannins and a nice sweetness. The length reveals aromas of ripe red fruits and liquorice.

This specific wine is a genuine blend of Syrah and Grenache Noir planted on the sunny slopes of the Languedoc-Roussillon. Theses Mediterranean varietals benefit from idyllic conditions for producing ripe, balanced and healthy grapes. The vineyards are nestled at the footstep of the Montagne Noire (Black Mountain range) benefitting from fresh breezes provided by the proximity to the hills, leading to elegant and complex flavour profiles. With soils made of clay limestone, rocks and pebbles, this specific terroir has all the attributes for the successful growing of Syrah and Grenache.

After the grapes are harvested, they are destemmed and left to macerate for several days in stainless steel tanks. During the process, the juices are pumped over twice a day, extracting the best colour and aromatic components from the grapes. This technique gives the juice its intense colour and reduces the harshness of the tannins. At the end of the process, the wine is kept on stainless-steel tank for 5 months to soften the wine before bottling.

Produced under the supervision of renowned oenologist Xavier Roger. Les Peyrautins combines modern techniques to compliment the best of traditional French wine regions. The result is a perfect combination of the New and Old world.
