"A captivating and complex wine with a bouquet of mineral then layers of lees and fine oak scents, there's complexity and detail with some pure fruit drive - fresh white and yellow peach baked nectarine and sweet grapefruit. Presents with a youthful pale gold hue complex aroma of integrated seasoned oak ripe stone fruit, brioche and mealy characters complement dried summer herbs and oak complexity on the palate this wine has a superb acid line and balance that makes it accessible now but promises much for those with the patience to cellar.
2020 was an exceptional growing season that produced a naturally balanced crop of clean Chardonnay from a long and dry Summer.
Fruit predominantly from our oldest vines were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, some directly to barrel and some cold settled. Barrel fermentation in 46% new oak was followed by a regime of stirring and topping until April 2021 when racking and assemblage commenced sterile filtration preceded 1st July bottling.
