"Beautifully ripe and fragrant with dark plum, blackcurrant, olive and toasted nut aromas, it's supple and flavoursome in the mouth displaying bright fruit intensity together with fine texture and polished tannins, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2022
"Great colour intensity and bouquet with dark berries, plums and smoky earth and wood highlights. On the palate a dry wine with an earthy theme of brown clay and iron sand, then a core of dark red berry fruits, roasted blackberry and bell-pepper, Doris plums and tobacco. Youthful and taut with a developing flavour profile, firm tannins and plenty of acidity for grip and freshness. Best drinking from 2027 through 2033+. Excellent value" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Mar 2025
Elegant aromas of black fruit with notes of new leather and spice. The palate is dark and brooding with characters of of ripe black plums and wild blackberry with a toasty oak note lingering on the finish. Drinking beautifully now this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years or beyond.
The free draining gravel type soil in the Hawke’s Bay, combined with the climate are the perfect mix for the growth of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruit was carefully monitored during ripening and harvested in the cool evening at maximum flavour maturing and physiological ripeness.
