Rhubarb, red currant, sweet red apples, and raspberry. Notes of sour cherries and watermelon. Very protracted, almost disappearing acidity but still with a surprising dryness. Rounded and quite complex fruity finish with hints of watermelon, raspberries, strawberry lemonade, lime, and lemon peel.
Léon Perdigal was Ogier’s first cellarmaster when the company was founded in 1859. Born in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, he knew all the secrets of how an exceptional wine from the Rhone Valley should be taken care of. He always kept the cellar’s keys on him, quickly earning the nickname ‘The Pope of the Keys’.
Food Pairing: Pork, rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), shellfish, poultry. Great as an aperitif and with a Mediterranean starter.
