1 x Château du Cartillon Haut Medoc 2019 (France)

AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Concours Mondial des Feminalise

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS: Wine Enthusiast Magazine
AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Decanter Magazine
AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: The Wine Cellar Insider
AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Antonio Galloni

"The 2019 du Cartillon is a gorgeous Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. Black fruit, herbs, licorice, incense and lavender give Cartillon its striking aromatic presence. The 2019 offers unreal complexity and tons of character. Drink it over the next decade or so" Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"This has aromas of dark plums, chocolate cherries, dried roses and sweet spices. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Creamy, fleshy palate. Juicy and flavorful. Drink from 2022" James Suckling

"This 144-acre estate is producing some fine wines. Balanced, juicy and jammy, this wine is full of black-plum and berry flavors that are sustained by the ripe tannins and generous texture. Drink the wine from 2025" Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Château du Cartillon, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, established in the heart of the Haut-Médoc appellation on the route of the great Médoc Châteaux, is a 55-hectare property under sustainable viticulture. In 2019 it obtained the HVE level 3 certification. The quality of this terroir has been identified for a long time, making Château du Cartillon a property well known since the 19th century. Since 2007, this estate has been operated and distributed by Crus et Domaines de France, a major négociant of the “Place de Bordeaux”.

1 x Altesino Rosso di Montalcino 2020 (Italy)

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS: James Suckling
AWARDED 90/100 POINTS: Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2022

100% Sangiovese

"Lovely balance and freshness to this, showing what Rosso di Montalcino is supposed to be like. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh, creamy-textured finish" James Suckling

"Cedary spice, dried cherries and crushed rocks form an inviting display as the 2020 Rosso di Montalcino opens in the glass. This is a round and forward effort, with lavender-tinged cherry fruit and bright acidity that adds an energetic feel. Lightly structured yet potent, this finishes with admirable length and class. Drink 2023-2026" Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2022

1 x Calmel & Joseph Pic Saint Loup 'Le Pic' 2019 (France)

AWARDED 95/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

"Immensely complex and engaging, the bouquet shows dark berry, dried herb, charcuterie, thyme and assorted nut aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate delivering plush texture with layers of fine-grained tannins, finishing superbly long and sturdy. Wonderfully flavoursome and satisfying with rich savoury notes" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"As gloriously ruby red and lustrous as ever, it has a refined and complex nose, with aromas of laurel, citrus and white pepper that evolve to small red berry fruit. This is a vintage full of vivacity that has no hesitation in expressing itself incisively and fully. The mid palate offers fine tannins, with redcurrant, blueberry, and some more untamed, gamey notes, before ascending into fragrant mentholated, liquorice notes. It is so good to be able to taste this wine with its unique style so characteristic of these Pic Saint Loup parcels again, after three consecutive vintages that were ravaged by hail and frost. Once again, this is a wine of rare elegance and personality, with astonishing cellaring potential, that will delight all lovers of Pic Saint Loup" Winemakers Notes

Located in the hinterland of Montpellier, Pic Saint-Loup is both one of the most beautiful natural sites in the area and the location of one of the best hiking trails of the garrigue.  It is also a brilliant place to grow grapes. The latest vintage of Le Pic is a blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre (40 year-old vines), 10% Carignan. It is full of black cherries and blackberries, but it still has some hints of dried herbs and—more notably— licorice. It's medium to full-bodied, framed by supple tannins that turn silky on the lingering finish.
