Description

  • American & French oak
  • Ripe pear & melon
  • Vanilla & crème brulée
  • Juicy finish

"Generous and opulent, the wine shows mango, pineapple, toasty oak and French vanilla characters on the nose, followed by a delectably expressed palate offering excellent weight and richly textured mouthfeel, making it gorgeously drinkable. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2023

The 2022 Clay Creek Vineyards California Chardonnay consists of beautifully integrated aromas of melon, ripe pear and vanilla, highlighted by delicate hints of white flowers. Bright and balanced, this full-bodied Chardonnay displays flavors of peach, honeydew melon, pineapple and crème brulée. The taste has a lovely, complex structure and good acidity, which leads to a rich, ripe juicy finish.

The Chardonnay grapes were carefully selected from diverse vineyards in California. The vineyards are blended from cool and warm climates to create complexity and layers of flavor.

The 2022 vintage showcased a perfect balance of mild temperatures and limited rainfall, leading to an exquisite grape selection. The warm summer fostered a gradual ripening process, yielding wines that are light, crisp, and bursting with abundant flavors.

Picking decisions are based on winemaker evaluation, vineyard condition and proper flavor ripeness. The winemakers tend to pick on the mid to late side to promote the tropical flavors and to retain the natural acids. The juice is clarified and racked to stainless steel tanks for fermentation, a portion of which is fermented and aged on a combination of French and American oak for six months.

From our family to yours - we happily share our favorite delectable wines made with grapes from some of California’s finest vineyards, and bottled at our family’s sustainable winery. Bust out your favorite wine glass and pour yourself a moment of pure California joy.
