Description

  • Dry style
  • Blackcurrant
  • Passionfruit
  • Lingering finish

"Pristine and delightfully lifted on the nose, showing green rockmelon, kaffir lime, nectarine and jasmine aromas, followed by a succulent palate offering bright fruit intensity backed by fine texture and crisp acidity. Beautifully styled and expressed with a lengthy tasty finish. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2024

Pale green in the glass. Enticing aromas of tropical fruit, blackcurrant, green capsicum and lime. A bright and opulent wine with complex layers of tropical passionfruit and mineral wet stone. The palate is bright and concentrated with a lingering freshness.  A bright and complex wine with fresh, tropical characteristics and a salty, mineral finish.

Selected from a single vineyard in the Dillons Point area of Marlborough. Close to the ocean, this sub-region experiences long hot days balanced by the effect of cooling sea breezes at night.

The 2023 vintage started with warm spring weather resulting in early flowering within our Delta vineyards. The growing season had higher levels of rain that cleared up early April, at this time the wind picked up, drying the fruit and leaving behind disease free grapes with intense tropical flavours. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, the fruit was continually monitored until a balance of flavour, acidity and physiological ripeness was reached.

During a cool evening, the vineyard was machine harvested and the grapes quickly transported to the winery where they were destemmed and pressed. After settling, the juice was fermented at cool temperatures and racked off lees quickly to retain the vibrant fruit flavours and freshness of this Sauvignon Blanc. Heather then selected her favourite components from this vineyard to produce our flagship Hatters Hill Sauvignon Blanc.

Food Pairing: An ideal match with pan-fried scallops, or soft goats cheese salad.
