"Syrah, Grenache blend with a touch of Rousanne. Deep, dense red with plum, berry, chocolate, liquorice, five spice, old leather and fresh mushroom flavours. A big, complex wine that is beginning to show some 'forest floor' bottle age character, but has the potential to develop further" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Jul 2019
A magnificent garnet colour, deep and intense. Rich with notes of coffee, dark fruits, truffle, mocha and blueberry. Complex yet balanced, both fresh and intense, voluptuous. Very long on the palate, with lingering notes of dark fruits and fine tannins.
Grenache, over 40 years old, north-west facing at 530m. Syrah, 30 years old, south-west facing at 540m. Argilo-calcaire (clay and limestone) and very stony. Double cordon de Royat, 6 shoots per cordon.
Food Pairing: A generous and intense wine with strong aging potential, ideally suited to lamb, red meat and roasted vegetables. Decant for 2-3 hours and serve at room temperature. Aging potential: 10-12 years.
