"Bright and delicately fragrant, the wine shows watermelon, crunchy apple, kiwifruit and lemon peel notes with a subtle floral overtone. It's succulent and beautifully rounded in the mouth, displaying fine texture and juicy acidity. Youthful and charming with pristine fruit flavours, finishing persistent and refreshing" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2023

Elegant and delightfully lifted, showing sweet strawberry, creaming soda, white floral and lemon zest aromas, it's juicy and refreshing with excellent fruit purity and finesse.

A blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 11% Pinot Rose and 4% Pinot Noir (Ward Valley fruit). This magical mix gives the wine a beautiful blush colour and aromatics, while softening the acidity on the palate. Sauvignon Blanc Fruit was sourced from our 8ha block in Marlborough’s stunning Waihopai Valley - we call it Snapper Rock’s ‘ika vineyard’, ika meaning ‘fish’ in Māori.

The 2023 vintage in Marlborough was a slightly lower yield than 2022, however the smaller bunches were of excellent quality. We left the grapes on the vine for an additional 7 days compared to other vineyards in the area to achieve 20.5 brix. Summer of 2023 saw significant rain events across New Zealand. Marlborough avoided the worst of it, however the region lacked the usual hot sunny conditions to ripen the berries in early April.

Harvest started at 2am on the 12th April 2023. Picking at cool temperatures early in the morning ensures we retain optimal freshness and acidity in the fruit. The grapes were then pressed at our Winery and fermented in stainless steel tanks under the watchful eye of winemakers Corey Hall and Digger Hennessey.
