Description

  • Fine oak
  • Raspberries
  • Chocolate & spice
  • Moreish finish

"Surely a contender for value buy of the year. Indeed, the range of four reds released here is definitely odds on for best buying collection of the year. Maroon purple, this is a brooding, deep red with aromas of plums, chocolate, cigar boxes, dry herbs and raspberries – the black fruits kick in much more on the palate. There is good density, but the wine retains its freshness. Very fine tannins and a lingering finish, this is utterly delicious and should remain so for at least the next six to eight years. The palate exhibits more chocolate, axle grease and blackberries. Terrific stuff" Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot, Jan 2023

The 2021 Shiraz is full of brambles and blue/black fruits with a spicy lift. Layers of brooding dark fruits, spice and savoury characters are framed in fine oak. The sinewy tannin profile pulls the wine through to a long and moreish finish.

Fruit is grown on our Estate, Yertabulti and Provis vineyards, situated at the northern end of the Clare Valley, this is the perfect climate for maturing our premium red grapes. Vines are 38+ years old.

Some good rain events toward the end of winter and into the start of spring provided a good start to the growing season, with soil profiles observed at maximum moisture levels still at the start of November. Vines put on good strong early growth, with the emergence of inflorescence providing an insight of the potential yields to come.
