Kelly Washington Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé 2024
Kelly Washington Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé 2024
Description
- Dry style
- Subtle fruit
- Elegant
- Structured
A wholly classy, elegant Rosé where the focus is not on the fruit, but on creating a dry wine with texture, structure and depth of acidity. Minimal skin contact, wild yeast and lees contact have all aided in creating this delicious, dry and very grown up Rosé.
Coming right off the back of a very good vintage in 2023, 2024 proved to be another excellent harvest. The growing season was classically Marlborough, with a cool dry spring and warm summer temperatures prevailing. Cool nights right up to, and during harvest, helped to retain acidity and keep disease at bay. This is our first release of a Rosé, and we were delighted to harvest the Pinot Noir fruit on a beautiful sunny day in pristine condition.
21st March 2024, 100% Hand Harvested. Direct to press, 100% Whole bunch pressed. Settled in small tank for 5 days. 100% wild yeast, commencing 10 days post-settling. A combination a small stainless steel tank and a neutral oak barrel. After one month fermenting, the vessels were combined and the wine aged on lees in a small stainless steel tank, unsulphured, for 3 months.
