Description

  • Subtle oak
  • Blueberry & plum
  • Warm spice & florals
  • Supple & rounded

"It's youthfully charming and fragrant on the nose, showing Black Doris plum, blueberry, rich floral, warm spice and toasted almond characters. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity and good weight, splendidly supported by supple texture and rounded tannins, finishing silky and persistent. At its best: now to 2031" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2024

"Vivid hues of purple and magenta with a pink rim lead to a bouquet of ripeness, freshness and fruit power. The fruit aromas and flavours drive the palate of this wine with boysenberry and dark plums, blackberry and chocolate, there’s a fine clay and stone mineral quality and a leesy quality. The use of oak is minimal with little apparent impact other than structure. Fine fruit tannins, decent acid line and a lengthy engaging palate. Best from late 2024 through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2024

Deep crimson, lifted aromatic notes of Doris plum, dark fruits, chocolate, violet and dusty herbs. Big and fruity with hints of plum, blackberry, blueberry and dried herbs.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from the Tietjen's vineyard in the Hexton Hills appellation of Gisborne. Grown on Kaiti clay loam soil and planted in 2009, the fruit is 100% leaf plucked around the fruit zone and only two canes are laid down to ensure good ripeness, colour and texture in the wine.
