Description

  • White peach
  • Grapefruit
  • Spicy lemon
  • Lip-smacking

"As the wine opens out in glass and on the palate the flavours of grapefruit and white peach begin to emerge, Additional flavours of apple and white spice unfold over the coming minutes. These ideas remain persistent with a nice line of acidity to embellish the core throughout the palate. Best drinking from day of purchase through end of summer 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2024

Pale straw in colour with green hues. Aromas of fresh tropical fruits mingle with spring blossom notes. The palate is long and creamy, with flavours of grapefruit, barbecued green mango and a touch of spicy lemon myrtle. The wine has a savoury edge with flinty notes from wild fermentation. Refreshing, lip-smacking acidity gives lovely length with a savoury, textural finish.

A very cool, wet winter and spring continued into early summer. Heavy rains abated and the grapes enjoyed a long, cool growing season, perfect for flavour development. Plentiful soil moisture allowed large canopies to flourish which enabled the grapes to attain flavour ripeness at slightly lower sugar levels than usual.
