"From the Saint Emilion appellation. Ripe, soft and generous with cassis, black berry fruit, soy, spiced plum, stewed prune and hint of earthiness" Phil Parker, Dec 2024
Very beautiful purple color. Nice fruity nose with aromas of ripe fruit. In the mouth, very beautiful material, the wine is pleasant by its roundness and velvety softness. The finish is silky with good aromatic persistence.
Château La Chapelle Maillard is located on the hillsides of the Dordogne on the tip of the Saint Emilion appellation. The terroir consists of Castillon clay and St Emilion limestone. The entire vineyard has had organic certification since the beginning of the 1980s. The vines are grown naturally, in accordance with the official organic specifications. Inspections and certification are carried out by Ecocert. The vineyard surrounds the ancient umbrella pine shown on the label.
Organic farming since 1981. Weeding 1 row out of 2, mechanical harvests, sorting table, destalker, pre-fermentation maceration, vinification in thermoregulated stainless vats, vatting + or - 30 days and use of peristaltic pumps (for gentle winding for diffusion much more homogeneous and smooth).
Food Pairing: This wine is ideal with grilled chops with herbs, beef Wellington, roasted chicken, Chinese food, mushroom risotto or aged cheddar.
