Description
"Beautifully fruited and perfumed, the bouquet shows dark plum, cherry, rich floral, warm spice and roasted nut aromas, followed by a silky-smooth palate that's succulent and fleshy. Splendidly composed and harmonious, offering fabulous drinking. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2024
"Derek, one half of the current custodians, had a love for dance party and techno music (I am assuming the latter is not an oxymoron) in his younger days, hence the name. But we are here for the wine and it is doing some singing and dancing of its own. Deep garnet/red, the nose is exhibiting good concentration with notes of plums, black fruits, smoked meats, cocoa powder, cloves, and bay leaves. The structure is seamless, the texture supple. There is fine acidity and everything is in balance. Good length and noticeable tannins, but they are of such a silky nature that they cannot but help appeal. Enjoy over the next six to eight years" Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot, Aug 2024
This classic Barossa blend has mid red colour, the nose has lifted raspberry fruit, earthy/savoury notes and sweet spice like cloves and cardamoms. The medium bodied palate displays typical GSM characters with cherries, raspberries, herbal notes, mint and a hint of roasted nuts. The tannins are soft and supple, with the old vine fruit giving the wine lovely mouthfeel and texture. The palate is even and finishes with an impressive length of berry fruit and savoury spice, making the wine very approachable and drinkable. Drink young while it is vibrant and fresh but will age in the medium term for up to seven years.
Paisley Wines was created in 2016 by Derek Fitzgerald and Kirsten Harvey and combines both of their experience with their mutual passion for music, art and great wine.
Paisley Wines Estate Vineyard is located at 440m above sea level, directly above the town of Angaston in the northern end of the Barossa region. The dividing line between the Barossa Valley and the Eden Valley GIs falls over the top of the property and the classification of the vineyard site is Eden Valley.
The Vineyard is planted to 12 acres of 21+ year old Shiraz.
Derek’s 90’s love-affair with dance parties and techno music has inspired this range of wines. The passion morphed with his school nickname Deadly Derek. He used to make CD for friends with his best DJ mixes and signed them Mixed by DJ Deadly. The Turntable GSM is just another one of his creations.
Food Pairing: Derek and Kirsten suggest this would be the ideal match to your next pizza, tomato based pasta or barbequed lamb chops.
