Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Description

"It is impressively fruited on the nose showing fabulous aromas of cassis, mixed berry compote, cocoa, cedar and cigar, leading to a succulent palate that is beautifully weighted and supple. The wine delivers loads of delectable fruit flavours with subtle spicy nuances, wonderfully framed by polished tannins. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sept 2017

The bouquet is rich with blackcurrant, mint and dark chocolate. The textural palate has fine tannins, and excellent persistence with intense chocolate and berry flavours. A deeply coloured wine with great depth and varietal definition. Further intensified with rich, natural colour sourced from grapes, our winemaking team carefully blend our vibrant, flavour packed parcels of premium Barossa wine to create a Shiraz so bold and dark in colour, it’s almost ink.

Barossa Ink is the product of a challenge set down by the Grant Burge winemaking team to come up with the most vibrant and impactful wines possible. The result is an intense and opulent wine from the heart of the Barossa, with a colour so dark that it’s almost ink.

Nice fruit, well rounded, made for drinking young. Ordered the 2016, but got the 2018 delivered. Still happy with it. 2018 is ready to drink now. Unsure I would cellar it for long though.
