Description
Negroamaro is valued for its deep color and this wine is no exceptiuon with its deep ruby complexion and violet reflections in the glass. The nose offers strawberry, blackberry and raspberry notes whilst the flavour profile vinous and slightly astringent. Overall this is a subtle, pleasant and fresh wine with flavours of herbs and cherry jam and a long lasting, harmonious finish. best served at 16-18 °C.
This wine is produced using 100% Negroamaro grapes grown in the South Eastern region of Italy of Puglia, the heel of Italy's 'boot', which is world renowned for producing some of Italy’s most flavoursome and exciting reds. Negroamaro is a dark-skinned grape variety that has been associated with this region for over 1500 years. This area has shallow, red soil on layers of calcareous rock, excellent for the vines.The wine making process for this wine included a pre-fermentary maceration, and temperature controlled fermentation before refining took place in oak barrels.
Food Pairing: Will pair beautifully with rustic Italian cuisine, we particularly recommend during those cloudier and wet days of the summer months trying with hearty soups or slow cooked, stewed red meat dishes cooked in pignata, red sauces.
