Description
This Pinot Noir has a delightfuly dark cherry hue in the glass with a hint of crimson. Dark aromatics of ripe cherry, sage, dried bark and thyme emerge on the nose, while a wonderful integration of ripe red fruits and velvety tannins dance across the palate. The wine has great density, yet carries an distinct elegance as it flows towards a savoury dry finish.
Grapes for this wine were handpicked from the higher terrace of the vineyard and fermented with indigenous yeast, producing a wine with a silky layered texture and providing interest and complexity.
Craggy Range is a family owned winery established in 1998 and situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from multiple regions in New Zealand. Owner Terry Peabody and his family pursued the single vineyard approach to winemaking, planting on green fields and bare land ensuring a focus on quality from the very beginning. The wines produced for the Prestige and Family Collections are pure expressions of the unique terroir in which they were grown.
Food Pairing: Match this rich red with dishes featuring duck.
