"A concentrated example of Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc with typical saline-mineral, green capsicum, nettle and tomato leaf flavours contrasting with subtle passionfruit flavours. A fresh and tangy wine with pleasing energy" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Jan 2020

This Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is a very aromatic wine, fruit driven but technically dry. It has ripe zesty fruit flavours of whitecurrants, grapefruit, passionfruit and gooseberries balanced by green tomato stalk, capsicum and crushed blackcurrant leaves. It has a beautifully balanced palate. This wine is typically enjoyed young, but can cellar for up to 4 years

It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, Single Vineyard from the Stanley Estates family vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand.

The 2019 Season was a return to a normal hot dry Summer which gave a slightly less than “normal” crop, due to unsettled weather during flowering in December. With the hot summer conditions it led to an early harvest. The flavours developed steadily during the ripening period, the fruit was picked in parcels as the blocks reached their maturity developed. The grapes were machine harvested at night when the fruit temperatures are lower to capture and maintain the fruit freshness.

AIer a gentle pressing, the juice was settled and racked to stainless steel tanks, where it went through a controlled fermentation using french yeasts.  The wine then spent a good time on lees to add a real depth of flavour and palate weight to the wine. The wine was cross flow filtered and prepared for boilling under screwcap to maintain freshness and quality.

Food Pairing: Fine seafood, chicken dishes and salads, or simply drink for pleasure!
