"A brooding bouquet of dark berries with some light oak notes. The palate is big and flavoursome with fine tannins" Winestate Magazine, Aug 2020
"It's beautifully lifted on the nose showing blackberry, blueberry, violet, vanilla and roasted nut aromas, followed by a supple palate that's ripe and lingering It's fruit expressive and smooth with elegant spicy nuances, finishing long and comforting. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2020
A true and varietal cool-climate Shiraz that exudes fragrant red and black fruits with an underlying spice and the smallest suggestion of oak. A medium-bodied style that is so typical of this part of Victoria, bold and generous flavours all framed by glorious organic fruit. Well-proportioned palate weight on the finish with good tannin structure and balanced by firm acidity.
Sourced from organic vineyards in Glenrowan and picked at ripeness before being hand sorted prior to fermentation. The wine underwent 12 months in older, large format oak that kept it fresh and lively. A drink now style that will benefit short-term cellaring.
Good rainfall set an auspicious start to the growing region. Conditions were set for a dry but favourable vintage. Lack of water resulted in early ripening and modest crops and those with good water were able to nurture their vines through prolonged periods of heat. Intense heat through February lent intensity and structure. A strong vintage overall.
The Indigo Grape Growers Collective is a modern range of Organic wines sourced and crafted by a small number of like-minded vignerons from their organically grown vineyards in the historic wine regions of North-Eastern Victoria. Though collectively known as the greater Indigo region, more specifically the fruit for these wines was grown in the heart of Rutherglen and neighbouring Glenrowan, famous for producing warm, fuller bodied wine styles with rich flavours and heady aromatics. These wines are part of a progressive generation that choose sustainable organic farming as well as crafting wines that are suitable for vegans.
