Description

- Red & dark fruit
- Baking spices
- Plush tannins
Aromas of red and dark fruits with a generous splash of sweet smokey oak. A rich and juicy pallet with plush tannins and a long, earthy, forest floor complexity with a hint of baking spices. This wine is drinking well now but will cellar for at least another 10 years.
This wine is from grapes grown in Leveret Estates Kuranui Vineyard in the Upper Awatere Valley in Marlborough.
The grapes for this wine were harvested and transported to the winery. The fruit was pressed into stainless steel fermentation vessels and inoculated with a range of yeast strains but principally RC212. Following fermentation, the wine was inoculated for Malolactic fermentation and run off to barrel for maturation. The wine spent around 12 months in oak before being blended and tankered to our Katikati winery for finishing and bottling.
Food Pairing: Enjoy this wine with duck or lamb dishes.
