Just as comfortable in steel cap boots as high heels and red lipstick.
More than just a wine, this is Emma Marris.
“John Marris was a pioneer of the modern Marlborough wine industry and 40 years later, his granddaughter Emma continues his legacy, releasing the first wine under her own label. Crisp and brightly fruited with guava, grapefruit and a little nectarine, this sauvignon blanc has a lovely zesty line of acidity and a crunchy, dry finish” Gourmet Traveller WINE, Apr 2022
"Plush, ripe, fruity and varietal. Aromas and flavours of lemon and green mango, fresh basil and fruit spice. Vibrant, crisp, salivating and fruity with a saline and fresh ripe acid line, fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet and a fine lees-like complexity. Well made and ready to drink from day of purchase and through end of summer 2024" Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier, Jun 2022
Vibrant aromas of ripe citrus and perfumed greens dovetail into a palate of fresh lime, gooseberry and wet stone minerality. Bright and focussed with a persistent finish.
100% Sauvignon Blanc grown at Marisco Vineyards’ Leefield Station Vineyard nestled in the Southern Valleys of the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough New Zealand.
The 2021 growing season saw an early vintage due to optimal grape ripening from dry summer months and record sunshine hours. Despite smaller yields fruit was harvested in pristine condition capturing fruit flavours at their best, aided by the absence of vineyard disease and an overall moderately warm, dry season. Emma has carefully selected the fruit for its concentration of flavours and optimal balance expressing the essence of the Leefield Station Vineyard.
Following gentle pressing a portion of the juice is chilled cloudy for up to two weeks. Homogenisation twice daily encourages an abundance of aroma and flavour precursors from the solids into the juice while building natural texture. After this process (known as stabulation), the juice is clarified and fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve aromatic freshness. The wine is blended and bottled after a short period of time on lees.
This wine is proudly Vegan friendly. Best served chilled.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with freshly shucked oysters and a splash of lemon juice.
