Whalebone Bay Marlborough Lighter Sauvignon Blanc Rosé 2021 (Export Wine)
Description
- Dry style
- Red berries
- Cherry blossom
- Long delicate finish
Delicate aromas of cherry blossom and blackcurrant leaves. This elegant Rose has a fruit driven style with flavours of juicy red berries and a long delicate finish. A refreshing summer wine, to enjoy chilled on a summer’s day or to compliment fresh seafood.
The fruit was sourced from selected vineyard sites in Malborough capable of reaching optimum flavour intensity before the sugar levels became too high. It was then machine harvested in the cool of the night in order to retain fresh fruit flavours. The grapes spent just a few hours on skins to extract the lovely colour of pale pink, then carefully pressed. After settling the juice was fermented in 100 per cent stainless steel at cooler temperatures to retain fresh fruit flavours
Food Pairing: Perfect as an aperitif or with an antipasto platter.

Very nice but not really me.

This is excellent table wine and I am so glad that there is more choice of lower alcohol wine available now, even though it's almost all white.

Lovely and light. Can enjoy with lunch and not need a sleep after! ??

For the price this is really good value and better than a lot of more pricier Roses. We like the 'lightness' which doesn't make it any less flavoursome as some lighter wines tend to do - would buy again.

Easy drinking. I bought a second case as great value.
Janet - 02/03/2023
Sadly too sweet (even though it was listed as dry, at 9.5% alcohol, it is disappointingly too sweet).
