Description

  • Off-dry style
  • Ripe pear & stonefruit
  • White spice & florals
  • Silky texture

"Fragrant and fruity with a core varietal signature of fresh white fleshed fruits and for this wine a cool climate ripe citrus quality. Brown pear and yellow apple scents with a white fleshed stone fruit quality laced with a touch of mineral and white spice. Satin textures with contrasting acid line then flavours of fresh, ripe and crunchy white fleshed fruits that reflect the bouquet. The spice and mineral qualities become louder as the wine become more ambient. Medium weighted with a youthful plush finish. Best drinking from 2022 through 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

"It's elegantly fragrant with nectarine, ripe pear, red apple and floral aromas, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering juicy fruit flavours with silky texture and refreshing acidity. Charming and delightfully appealing. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Delightful aromas of pears and stone fruit on the nose, the off-dry palate brims of quince, nashi and apple. A nicely balanced wine, full and long. Drink young and fresh through to 2025.

From a selection of our growers in the Nelson region.

Harvest 2022 threw just about everything at us to challenge even the most seasoned grower. From a cool, damp flowering period, beautiful hot January followed by super wet February, huge disease pressure all round, etc. Fortunately from the beginning of March onwards, the fine weather returned and stayed. While yields were down on average, the fruit that was harvested was in the main very good and we’re looking forward to some great wine. Not a stellar vintage, but not bad either.

Kahurangi Estate is named after the stunning Kahurangi National Park on our doorstep. Kahurangi is a Maori word with a number of translations, two being “treasured possession” and “precious jewel”. The Kahurangi Estate Series showcases some of the finest wine the region has to offer.

Food Pairing: Perfect with seafood and white meats or simply enjoy chilled on its own.
