Kim Crawford Marlborough Pinot Noir 2022
Kim Crawford Marlborough Pinot Noir 2022
Description
- French oak
- Dark berries
- Subtle spice
- Fine tannins
Dark garnet with a hint of purple at the edges. Bright, lively red and dark berry fruit, couple with an earthy bouquet. A juicy wine, with delicious plum, strawberry, black cherry flavours, a hint of spice and fine tannins.
The grapes are predominantly from Marlborough 's Southern Valleys. 2022 was a dry hot Summer in Marlborough . The weather conditions allowed the vines to ripen with no pressure of disease, maintaining intense and delicious flavours. The grapes were machine harvested.
The grapes were crushed with open rollers and soaked with skins for 7-10 days (pre and post yeast inoculation). We used a mix of tank and barrel maturation to influence structure, fruit forward characters and harmonious notes of spicy french oak.
Kim Crawford wines started out in a small Auckland cottage in New Zealand. Since its launch in 1996, the label has gained critical acclaim around the globe. We do things unconventionally, take risks, start things, and welcome different.
