Mr Mick Clare Valley Shiraz 2021 (Australia)
Description
- American oak
- Ripe raspberries
- Toasty vanilla
- Full-bodied
Lifted violet, blueberry and red jubed fruit bouquet leads the nose with nuances of creamy and toasty vanilla oak due to American oak maturation. The palate is rounded and full bodied with firm, structural tannins and dark cherry and ripe raspberries. This is a cracking example of the high caliber 2021 vintage, with near-perfect ripening conditions producing intense, bold fruit expression.
Clare Valley Shiraz captivates wine enthusiasts with its power and elegant synergism. This wine follows that style; graceful yet flavoursome, able to be enjoyed on its own or great with a diverse range of food.
Premium Shiraz from selected vineyards throughout the Clare Valley was fermented for a week with its skins using a mild pump-over regime and minimal winemaking intervention. Soft pressings have been returned to this blend to enhance mouthfeel and texture. Heavy pressings were kept separate to minimise hard, drying tannins. The wine was then matured using predominantly American oak for 24 months before fining, filtration, further tank maturation and bottling.
Food Pairing: It is suitable for drinking anytime from the present to ten years of age and will complement all red meats, particularly char-grilled steak.
