Kumeu Village Pinot Gris 2023

Kumeu Village Pinot Gris 2023
Description
- Dry style
- Lemon
- Quince
- Crisp
Made by Master of Wine Michael Brajkovich from sustainably grown Pinot Gris grapes that are hand-harvested and sorted in our Kumeu Vineyards then gently whole-bunch pressed. Fermented using local wild yeast with extended maturation on the yeast lees.
The 2023 vintage was tricky with ripeness level lower than usual. The Village Pinot Gis was the only Pinot Gris we made in 2023 so all the grapes that usually go to the Estate Pinot Gris were put under the Village label. With a moderate alcohol of 12% this wine is refreshing and delicious. The aromas of lemon and quince are very appealing and that palate is crisp and pure with a refreshing lick of tannin on the end.
Food Pairing: This is a very suitable aperitif but will also go well with a wide variety of seafood and charcuterie.
