Description
- French oak
- Blueberry
- Toasted spice
- Velvety texture
"Splendidly ripe and instantly appealing, the wine shows black/blueberry, violet, toasted spice and cedar characters. The palate is equally satisfying, delivering excellent concentration and plush mouthfeel, wonderfully framed by velvety texture and polished tannins. Gorgeously flavoursome and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2033" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2023
"Deep, purple and brooding colour, roasted hazelnut on the nose, blackberry and dark chocolate with a hint of vanilla and a sprinkle of black pepper. Jammy and dense on the
palate with parma violet and stewed berry compote. Chocolatey and nutty on the finish, this complex, generous and polished Shiraz punches well above its price point" Sammy Wilkinson, The Wine Writer, Dec 2023
Deep purple in colour, this Shiraz is abound with flavours of black fruits and peppery spice. Finishing with supple tannins and just a hint of oak spice. Our maritime vineyard produces this fruit forward medium bodied wine with elegant strength and firm tannins suitable for short term ageing. This 2021 M-Block Shiraz can be enjoyed now, or will benefit with short term cellaring of 3 -5 years, If you can wait!
It was a season characterised by high temperatures offset by cooling sea breezes providing extended veraison - all signs of an excellent vintage. Weather conditions remained favourable over the lead up and the early weeks of harvest with warmer weather and minimal rainfall – ideal for veraison and grape development. Fresh mornings and mild evenings resulted in fruit high in natural acid, deep in colour and flavour well ahead of sugar ripeness. We think its a standout!
This fruit was sourced from Vasarelli’s Currency Creek Vineyard. They insisit on perfectly ripe, healthy grapes, low yields and harvesting at precisely the right time. Harvested in the cool of the early morning to preserve fruit structure. Extended time on skins pre and post ferment to allow gentle extraction. Matured for 18 months in 10% New and 90% seasoned French Oak Hogsheads to allow softening of tannins and acid and assist fruit / oak integration.
