"Beautifully styled and elegantly expressed, showing apricot, fig, lemon zest and jasmine aromas, it's juicy and finely flowing in the mouth delivering lively mouthfeel and crisp acidity. Pristine and refreshing with a lengthy engaging finish. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2023

Pale straw colour in the glass. Focsed aromas of white peach, white pepper and spice. The palate is sophisticated and well structured with notes of nectarine, fresh peach and subtle pepper spice, with a fresh and weighty finish. The 2021 Grüner Veltliner is a well structured wine with layers of stone fruit, and spice.

The grapes were sourced from the Omaka valley within Marlborough. This site experiences long hot summer days, contributing to optimal ripening and increasing intensity of the Grüner Veltliner characters.

The 2021 vintage started with cool spring weather which extended the length of flowering, leading to open bunches. A long and hot growing season led to lower crop levels with increased intensity of fruit. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, the fruit was continually monitored until a balance of flavour, acidity and physiological ripeness was reached.

During a cool evening, the vineyard was partially handpicked. The grapes were quickly transported to the winery where the handpicked grapes were whole bunch pressed and skins quickly removed. After settling, the juice was fermented at cool temperatures in a combination of stainless steel and old old barriques to add complexity to the palate. Heather then selected  her favourite components for the final blend prior to bottling.

Food Pairing: An ideal match with pan seared seabass and charred asparagus.
