Description

  • Toasty oak
  • Dried cherry & plum
  • Warm spice
  • Silky mouthfeel

"It's sweetly ripe and complex on the nose showing dried cherry, smoky bacon, warm spice and roasted nut aromas. It's equally attractive on the palate, displaying silky mouthfeel and ripe fruit flavours, finishing velvety and rounded. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Medium ruby-red, slight on the rim. The nose is gentle and elegant, with penetrating aromas of plum, redberry tart, cola nut, leather and spice. Medium-full bodied, juicy fruit of redberry, young red plum, cola nut melded with a hint of leather and subtle spice. The red-fruited core possesses juicy acidity and brightens the fine-weaved tannin structure. This Primitivo is juicy with vibrant red fruit and a ripe tannin framework" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Apr 2023

The bouquet is intense and characteristic, showing white pepper and leather notes, enriched by ripe red fruit sensations. Lovely mouthfeel that is well-rounded and balanced, full-bodied and harmonic - just ever-so-slightly tannic.

Mont’Albano was founded in 1985 in the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, as a result of the intuition of Mauro Braidot who, unlike the majority of the producers of the time, converted his 5 hectares (12.3 acres) of vineyard to organic production. Mont'Albano was green before it was in fashion. For them it was, and continues to be, a life choice, a way of looking not only at the vineyards but at the world around us.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with beef cheeks, a tomato-based pasta, lamb or chicken.
