Description

  • French oak
  • Wild strawberry
  • Warm spice
  • Silky finish

"It's brightly fruited and elegantly fragrant on the nose with sweet cherry, wild strawberry, warm spice and floral aromas, leading to a finely textured palate offering juicy fruit intensity with fine tannins, finishing silky and lingering. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2024

Beautiful fruit on the nose with aromas of cherry, blueberry and boysenberry with a touch of violet. Dark cherry continues to the palate with a savoury complexity. A silky tannin structure, with a whole bunch influence leads to a smooth finish.

The fruit for our Grove Mill Pinot Noir is hand harvested from our flagship vineyard, 17 Valley, as well as our ‘Favourite’ Vineyard. Good soil and canopy management, cold nights during ripening, and the warm, dry summer kept all the concentrated flavours in the grapes.

We hand harvested the grapes and brought straight to the winery. The fruit was destemmed, with 3% left as whole bunches, and had an extended cold soak prior to fermentation. It was then pressed to barrels for malolactic fermentation & maturation.

Food Pairing: Perfect for enjoying alongside barbequed meats or a tomato based pasta dish.

Very good for this price. Tastes like much dearer pinot noirs'.
