Description

  • Medium-dry style
  • Green apple
  • Fresh florals
  • Crisp finish

"Fragrant, off dry and delicious with aromas and flavours of fresh red apple and lemon, there’s a sherbet note accentuated by the acidity. Satin smooth as the wine touches the palate with an off-dry tickle then contrasting acid line. Flavours of apple then pear and citrus follow. Plush and refreshing finish. Best drinking from 2023 through 2028+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2023

Green gold. Enticing aromas of crisp  green apple and ripe lime, with fresh floral notes. An approachable yet elegant wine that is lively and packed with vibrant fruit flavours. A hint of minerality adds both weight and texture, complementing the mouth-watering acidity, natural sweetness and delicious, crisp finish. Drinking beautifully now and for the next 5-7 years.

This Single Vineyard Riesling is sourced from our Mound Vineyard in the Waipara Valley. This vineyard was established in 2002 on terraced gravels that offer little fertility which, along with Waipara’s long growing season, provide perfect conditions for making world class Riesling.

The grapes were handpicked at optimal ripeness and whole bunch pressed. The free run juice was cold settled and racked a few days later. A long and slow fermentation ensued to  maintain freshness and preserve primary  Riesling notes. Once the wine was in optimal balance it was cold settled and racked, to then be fined, filtered and bottled.

Overall conditions were mostly good in the 2022. Summer presented largely cloudy conditions,  with high rainfall and humidity. However conditions settled through Autumn, with warm days and cool nights contributing to delicious fruit with bright flavours. When the fruit was picked in April it was healthy, juicy and packed with concentrated  aromatics and zingy acidity.

Food Pairing: Pork schnitzel with crunchy coleslaw.
