De Bortoli Down the Lane Pinot Grigio Arneis 2018 (Australia)
De Bortoli Down the Lane Pinot Grigio Arneis 2018 (Australia)
Description
Pear, honeysuckle and mixed peel characters are infused with lemony acid. Briny, textural & delicious. A delightfully dry, textural white wine. 3 to 5 years in a good cellar.
Pinot Grigio is harvested with the Estate Grown Arneis planted by Deen & Kevin De Bortoli back in 2000. The Vermentino is off the De Bortoli Moyhu vineyard located in the King Valley planted back in 2010.
A dry winter followed by moderate rains in late spring and early summer enabled vines to produce a healthy crop of fruit. A dry harvest period ensured no disease & optimum ripening conditions. Producing very pure wines with good varietal expression and flavour.
3 Italian varieties planted by the De Bortoli family, were harvested together on the same day & into the same tank. Blend of Pinot Grigio, Arneis & Vermentino. The fruit of these 3 varieties were pressed together and the juice allowed to settle for 1 day before racking to fermentation. Fermentation lasted 9 days & the resulting wine left in this tank on lees for 9 months to let the aroma's and textures come together. The wine is suitable for Vegans.
Step off the sidewalk and venture 'Down The Lane'. Excite your palate with our new savoury pick-me-upper Pinot Grigio Arneis, gluggable Rosé Gris de Gris, fully charged Shiraz Tempranillo and soft and juicy Merlot Durif Shiraz.
