"The wine offers lovely up front juicy flavours of dark plum and blueberry with mixed spice, walnut and floral notes. It is ripe, rounded and smooth on the palate with youthful fruit flavours, backed by silky mouthfeel and fine, grainy tannins, finishing firm and lingering. Well proportioned and very food friendly" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2019

Dark cherry red in colour. Exquisite strawberry aroma with a spicy black pepper note. Warm and firm on the palate with delicate acidity.

The Torres family has been cultivating its own vineyards since the 17th century, and founded the Torres winery near Barcelona, Spain, in 1870. Right from the earliest days Miguel Torres Carbó travelled the vineyards in search of the best grapes to realize his dream of creating a wine with an inimitable personality. As a result Torres have been honoured by the recognition of their work by experts, critics and consumers. They have received many awards and prizes for their wines and for their efforts. Each of these has spurred Torres on to strive harder.

The 2016 vintage saw a warmer and drier winter than usual, followed by a colder and wetter March and April with little sunshine. Temperatures during budbreak were mostly mild, and the spring was rainy. Summer was slightly warmer and drier than usual, which limited berry growth. A heat wave during fruit maturation accelerated sugar accumulation in the Tempranillo grapes.

Food Pairing: Wonderful with meat and a perfect match for creamy cheeses.
