Description

  • French oak
  • Rich red berries
  • Soft & supple
  • Medium bodied

"This is wonderfully maturing with seductive dried cherry, elegant oak, game, dried herb and potpourri aromas on the nose, followed by a concentrated yet refined palate displaying multi-layered mouthfeel and graceful texture. Expansive and silky with an impressively long savoury finish. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2021

"Light-bodied, soft and supple Pinot Noir with gentle raspberry and fresh cherry flavours plus a hint of spicy oak. Pure, accessible and appealing wine. Simple and distinctive" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2019

"The 2016 vintage (4.5*) is a refined, single-vineyard wine from Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak casks (33 per cent new), it is bright ruby, fresh and youthful, in a medium-bodied style with cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing good complexity, finely balanced tannins, and obvious potential. Best drinking 2021+" Michael Cooper, Buyer's Guide 2021

Crafted in Cromwell, Central Otago, from a single vineyard site. This Pinot Noir is plush, fruity and complex with a strong undercurrent of toasty oak.

Food Pairing: This wine is drinking well now and would pair beautifully with any roasted red meats or a well prepared steak with mushroom sauce.
