Description
- French oak
- Dark plum & berries
- Mocha & coffee
- Silky & supple
"Sweetly ripe and enticing, the bouquet shows dark berry, rich floral, olive and toasted nut aromas. It's equally attractive in the mouth, delivering succulent fruit flavours with supple texture, finishing lingering and silky" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"A lovely balanced bouquet of pinosity and variety, dark plums and cherry scents lead to a palate of red berry fruits and fine tannins, violets and acidity. The use of lees and wood layer in some complexity and style, the core of this wine is however the fruit, weight and satin texture. Tannins are fine and polished and along with medium acidity and core fruit flavours present a wine that is ready to drink from day of purchase through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
"The 2022 Southern French harvest saw ideal growing conditions, resulting in wines with exceptional concentration and purity. Look for wines with intense flavours of black fruit, spice, and earth" The World of Fine Wine
In the words of ‘The-Buyer.net’ (The creation of the regional designation) "IGP Pays d’Oc has resulted in a vast choice of high-quality Pinot Noir at barely credible prices."
Produced by the highly acclaimed LGI wines, awarded Best French Still Wine Producer at Berliner Wein Trophy in 2017, 2018 and 2019! Originally the brainchild of Alain Grignon, who had a vision of making affordable, classic French wines designed specifically for the international market. Now under the supervision of oenologist Xavier Roger.
The Combe Rocher (literally ‘rocky valley’) range is one of pure authenticity crafted from carefully selected terroirs, situated on high altitude slopes, with rocky soils. The terroir effect is very noticeable in this region due to the great variety of winegrowing microclimates that create an expression of the grape varieties that is unique. This specific Pinot is planted on calcareous marl vineyards with fantastic exposure to the sun.
Grapes are sorted and destemmed. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature, and the wine is punched down daily until fermentation is finished. A percentage of the wine is matured under the influence of French oak while the balance is kept in stainless steel to preserve the vibrant fruit characteristics.
Food Pairing: Great with mushroom dishes, aged cheese, grilled duck, chicken, pork and beef.
