Description

  • Dry style
  • Lemon curd
  • Savoury pastry
  • Creamy mouthfeel

"This is immediately enticing on the nose with golden apple, lemon curd, savoury pastry and white floral aromas with a seductive yeasty undertone. The palate displays outstanding weight and persistency, wonderfully enhanced by creamy mouthfeel and beautifully pitched acidity. Complex and alluring with power as well as finesse and harmony, offering terrific drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2024

"This is a lovely Champagne. Aromas and flavours that tick the boxes of autolysis and intensity, stone fruit and preserved citrus, a layer of baked goods and chalky mineral qualities. There’s also a completeness from the bouquet as well suggesting a readiness to drink and no need to age further - though one could leave in cellar for a couple of years without concern.. An even flourish from the mousse as it touches the palate, a medium intensity with some rounded softer moments and a flourish of freshness from the acid line.  Overall a lovely wine, balanced, well made and ready with best drinking from day of purchase through 2029. Excellent value" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Mar 2024

Clear, yellow straw color with green reflections. Powerful and generous, almost woody and spicy, characterized by great aromatic richness with a blend of honeyed toasted, buttery and vinous aromas. Candied apple character, with a hint of red berry and a refined texture due to a majority of red grapes in the blend. Flavors of orchard fruits and peach followed by soft caramel sweetness.

Pinot Noir: 70 % - Chardonnay: 20% - Pinot Meunier: 10 %. Grapes mainly sourced from the ‘Vallee de la Marne’ area, known for the quality of its

Pinot Noir grapes.

A minimum of 3 years in our chalk cellars and 6 months after disgorging.

Founded just before the French Revolution in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, Heidsieck & co Monopole is the original Heidsieck House and the 4th oldest champagne House. It received royal warrants from the King of Prussia, the Emperor of Germany (1818), the British Crown (1911), the Swedish Crown, King Gustav (1933) and Tsar Nicolas II. In 1998, in the Baltic Sea, a Swedish submarine expedition found the wreck of Jönköping (ship that was sunk by a German submarine in 1916 and containing 3,000 bottles of Heidsieck vintage 1907 ordered by the imperial army in Saint Petersburg): the 2,400 bottles found 82 years later have been well preserved and the wine was excellent! The Heidsieck & Co House reflects the richness of traditional savoir-faire, a legacy of a long history of Champagne, written alongside our own, over the centuries. Still evocative of their time, our cuvées blend the modern world and traditional savoir-faire with High Environmental the same passion.

Food Pairing: Great champagne to enjoy with savory starters but also pairs well with shellfish and Asian cuisine.
