Description

- Black cherry & plum
- Chocolate & spice
- Dark & brooding
"This is immediately appealing on the nose showing sweet cherry, game, warm mushroom, olive and clove notes, leading to a silky-smooth palate that's succulent and fleshy. Soothing and lingering with attractive complexity and fine-grained tannins. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Deep ruby-red with good transparency, lighter on edge. The nose is youthful and vibrant, with aromas of red cherries, young plums, sweet vanilla and a hint of herb and earth. Medium-bodied, red cherries and plums enriched by sweet vanilla, cinnamon and wet earth linger with vine leaf herbaceousness. Fine, smooth-grained tannins provide a light grip and fragrant palate; herbaceous elements add interest. This fragrant, youthful Pinot Noir features red fruit, sweet spice and earth on a smooth palate" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews
"Light, fresh and delicately fruity wine with red cherry, plum and floral/violet flavours supported by a backbone of fine, peppery tannins. Supple pinot noir that reminds me a little of Village Burgundy" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review
Kin is a deliciously vibrant wine made to enliven gatherings of family and friends. A dark and brooding Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry, plum and chocolate. Black cherry, cola and spice follow through on the palate with orange peel nuances and a distinctive dried herb bouquet.
A sub regional Central Otago blend including fruitfrom our Estate vineyards in Bannockburn and Northburn.
The 2020 season started cool and dry, with warmer Summer temperatures leading into a long, warm Autumn. The season delivered lower yields of small berries, with excellent ripeness and flavour concentration.
Vineyard parcels were individually handharvested and destemmed to open topfermenters. Gentle hand plunging over a period of 10-22 days ensured the extraction of fine delicate tannins while retaining Central Otagos' signature brightness and juicy fruit flavours.
We believe in connections at Te Kano. Between wine and food, grape vines and the soil, people and nature. Our Estate vineyards are testament to this, with organic practices and an extensive Kowhai rejuvenation project strengthening our links with the land we love.
