"Bright red colour with purple tints. Complex spice, dried-herb and dark cherry aromas. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced. This is a Central Otago Pinot with finesse. Lovely" Huon Hooke, Real Review, Nov 2020
"Taut, high-energy Pinot Noir with red cherry, violet, red rose and mixed spice flavours. Bone-dry wine with firm, fine tannins and an appealing aroma. Lovely purity. It deserves to be aerated to emphasise the wine's perfume. Should develop well" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Feb 2021
"A core of ripe red cherry and dried raspberry then some plum and mountain thyme savoury scents. An enticing complexity. Very youthful on the palate with a tense and taut structure from firm tannins with a chalky, grainy drive. Plenty of acidity then flavours of fresh berries and sweet wood spices. Youthful still requiring the perfect food match or cellar time. Best from 2022 through 2030+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2020
"Designed as a ‘highly drinkable wine of unthinkable quality’. Matured in French oak casks, it is a bright ruby, attractively scented red with strong, ripe, cherryish, spicy, nutty flavours, fresh acidity and loads of drink-young charm" Michael Cooper
Unquestionably fruit driven from the moment of opening - gorgeous, rich Central Otago sensations from a hot vintage - a festoon of dark plum and rose petal florals fill the glass. There is depth and concentration of aroma with subtle graphite, Turkish delight and a slatey mineral lift. Whilst the nose is already intriguing, this wine is foremost and hospitably fruit driven. Plush and pillowy entry with plenty of weight and texture to the dark fruit-focused core, plums and cherries galore. Very good power and intensity with generosity, cut through with fine acidity and layered tannin structure. Sumptuous and comforting but with poise – opera, not ballet.
Food Pairing: Any lamb from Yotam Ottolenghi, some middle eastern influence and a squeeze of lemon juice over the top to get your tastebuds really going.

Dave - 12/08/2024
Good price and quite drinkable but maybe a bit too intensely fruity for my palate.

Reasonable value for money, I just expected a smoother wine for 5 star/95 judged wine. Very drinkable all the same
