"Intense, fragrant and expressive, with black cherry and dried plum notes that mingle with lavender, black tea and clove accents. A hint of dried porcino lingers on the finish. The tannins aren’t shy, providing a solid backbone for the flavours." Wine Spectator
1 x Quartz Reef Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015
awarded 95/100 points: Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate
"Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir exudes gorgeous violets, red roses and black cherry notes with underlying Provence herbs, dusty earth and cinnamon stick hints. Medium-bodied, the palate has a firm backbone of ripe, velvety tannins with lively acid supporting the concentrated, multi-layered flavors, finishing long. Spectacular Pinot Noir!” Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate 14% alc.
1 x Rapaura Springs Reserve Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015
Ripe berry, violet and mocha aromas combine with lovely blackberry, smoky oak and a savoury or ‘forest floor’ influence on the palate. Medium-bodied and softly textured, the fine tannins combine with the concentrated fruit flavours to deliver a harmonious and balanced wine. 13.5% alc.
1 x Craggy Range Te Muna Vineyard Martinborough Pinot Noir 2014
Awarded 90/100 Points: Wine Spectator
“Juicy and plush, with wild strawberry and maraschino cherry flavors, accented by a mix of sage and shite pepper details. Shows a supple texture and plenty of finesse on the detailed finish.” Wine Spectator
Bright red cherry colour with a crimson hue. Seductive aromas of dark cherry, dried rose petals, thyme and damp earth. Beautifully varietal, elegant and long on the palate. Medium weight red fruit richness and fine-grained tannins are drawn out long across the palate by acidity to create a finish which is savoury and dry. 13.8% alc.
1 x Greenhough Nelson Pinot Noir 2015
Awarded 4.5 stars: North & South Magazine, May 2017
"Sharply priced, this delicious wine was handpicked and matured for a year in French oak barrels (32 % new). Full, bright ruby, with fragrant, ripe bouquet, it is sweet fruited with generous plum, cherry, spice and nut flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony.” North & South Magazine, May 2017
1 x Ant Moore Marlborough Pinot Noir
awarded 90/100 Points: Sam Kim Wine Orbit
awarded 18/20 points: Raymond Chan
"Richly fruited and savoury at the same time, the engaging bouquet shows Black Doris plum, game, earthy mushroom and dark leather notes. The palate shows lovely fruit weight and intensity, beautifully structured by fine/firm tannins. Brooding and flavoursome, and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2019." Sam Kim Wine Orbit
Blackberry, plum, pepper, liquorice and leather are great descriptors for this wine. Subtle oak and full tannin structure gives roundness which lingers on the palate.
This wine was a pleasure to make, having access to high quality impeccable fruit makes the winemaking easy and very enjoyable to make.
